This project was to incorporate a large spa facility and raised terrace area onto the rear of an existing detached house, while also maintaining easy access to the basement and surrounding gardens of the property. The scheme was developed through the use of two spine walls around which individual spaces were created.

The upper terrace contains a large space for ‘al fresco’ dining and entertaining. The intermediate terrace holds the spa facility. The secondary spine wall acts as an occasional seat for those who want to sip a glass of Pinot or perhaps simply dip a toe! The lower terrace contains an observational area looking out onto the garden and over the existing pond. A deck for sun worshippers is conveniently placed below the upper terrace to provide shelter from the typical British summer.
